More than likely you won't find a view like this one inside a state park. These special scenic spots can only be found by turning off the paved road, driving miles down the gravel road, getting out, and hiking in. If you enjoy peace and quiet, solitude, and being alone, then these are the trails you want to be on. These are the kind of places I enjoy being most!
There are many spectacular waterfalls in Arkansas, but much like the Hiking Trails section, you cannot and more than likely will not access them with your car or truck. These little hikes are ideal if you just want to get out for the day or afternoon. I would strongly encourage you to pick up a copy Tim Ernst's book "Arkansas Waterfalls" if you want to hit these trails. A knowlegde of orienteering may be required to reach some of these special scenic spots.
